KSLX: Phoenix – REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin Gets Legal Advice

Category: Phoenix - KSLX - Classic Rock 100-7

One of the fun parts of working for a Classic Rock station for the first time in 15 years, is that I get to goof around with guys who get it. Kevin Cronin, is one of those. He called in to the show, and we decided to clown him a bit for one of his biggest hits. He “rolled with the shenanigans” with class, and humor. Good dude!

KSLX: Phoenix – Alice Cooper N’ Tommy Lee!

Category: Phoenix - KSLX - Classic Rock 100-7

Been a while since I’ve been able to post new audio to the site. Got that handled today…We got a visit from the legendary Alice Cooper in-studio. And then, he went into another studio, and called us on the phone. He was in to promote the latest round of dates with Motley Crue. So, they had him set up to do press with radio stations all over America. He was teamed with Motley’s Tommy Lee, and they did tandem interviews. We…were the last show on the list. Thanks to Alice & Tommy, for being good sports!

Week #1 Is History

Category: Well...Hello There!

We’re under way! Week #1 of the new Morning Show, has been quite the adjustment. It all goes so quickly. Hard to recall all that happens between 5-10am. The response has been really fun to hear. Lots of people excited about what’s coming. We’re pretty stoked to get all the calls & e-mails. So, thank you for everything so far.

At some point, we’ll have enough audio to post up here. It’s only been a few shows so far. Thanks for being patient. I’d rather we *not* post anything, than post something half-assed. Y’know?

In the meantime, you can see our show page at KSLX.com now. We have that going. And, follow the show on Twitter. We got that working too!

Thanks again for all of the support. It means a ton.

Where The Hell Have You Been?

Category: Well...Hello There!

I have NEWS!!!!

The only constant in the world, is change. I’ve had quite an eventful past 6 months to be sure. It hasn’t stopped. The corporate owners of KSLX, Hubbard Broadcasting (who also owned the former KDKB), have been amazingly good to me. Within three weeks of letting me go from my former station after the format change, they brought me back to do nights at Phoenix Classic Rock Station.

Needless to say, I am humbled and appreciative for all they’ve done.  Imagine my surprise, when they came to me and asked if I’d be interested in co-hosting Mornings on KSLX. It took about 4 seconds (and 15 pages of lawyer nonsense), for me to say “yes.”

And so…beginning 3/16, I’ll be waking up at 3am weekdays, braving the empty roads of Phoenix, Arizona, and waking up the Valley Of The Sun, on 100.7 KSLX. I’m being joined by a market veteran, named Mark Devine. Phoenix radio listeners will remember him as “Mark Derringer,” from the market-leading morning show “Tim & Mark,” on the old KDKB. He’s a great guy, and I’m sure we’re going to have a blast. Even if our pairing is tantamount to “radio date-rape.”

…seriously, we’ve met *four times*

It’s a ballsy move by Hubbard. We’re both stoked that they believe in our combined market performance, and “talents” to trust their 100,000 watt Classic Rocker to us to start the day. Should be a lot of fun…and a massive train-wreck. Good times!!

So, there it is. Another surprising twist in the tragic comedy that is my life. Hope you’ll take some time to hang with us each morning. As usual, I will post the silliness here as often as possible, and will make sure you have links to the official station show pages., and social media contacts.

In the meantime, starting at 5:30am, March 16th (Wolfgang Van Halen’s Birthday #VanHalenNerd)…You can hit that link in the upper corner of the page to listen live!

As always…Thanks for hitting the site & the e-mails!

Happy New Year!

Category: Well...Hello There!

Like many, my 2014 was an up n’ down affair. One of the greatest experiences of my professional career came to an abrupt end.

I could’ve been angry, or depressed.

Truth be told, I was both.

Thankfully, your support helped me weather the experience. And…a solid belief in myself, combined with a gracious offer from the parent company of my former station (Hubbard Broadcasting), put me back behind a microphone for 2015.

I’m thankful for all that’s happened. Both good, and bad. Lessons learned.

I wish you a Happy, Prosperous Year. May it be filled with the kind of nonsense, that makes life fun, and void of all other nonsense.

Thanks for visiting the page!

Paul
