Being a *huge* Mr. Big / Billy Sheehan fan, I was intrigued when I heard he was involved in a new band with Richie Kotzen and Mike Portnoy. Given the talent involved, I knew they were going to be musically proficient. The question was; “Would the songs suck?” I’m happy to report…they do not. Unfortunately, I was unable to persuade the band to play live during their appearance. So, you’ll have to take my word for it on this one. Or, you could check out their CD, or box set (I know!). This, is one of the best bands in music today. They bring an energy, and enthusiasm that is infectious. So far…they remain a fairly well-kept secret. I’m hopeful that changes sooner than later. Because they really deserve it. I’m also extremely stoked that they let me produce their live performances when they stop by. Hope you enjoy this appearance by Vintage Trouble. I have been fairly brutal toward Paul Stanley over the years. Not because of anything specific. I think I’ve just felt an inherent need to make fun of KISS (even though I’m a *huge* fan of *most* of their stuff), and he was an easy target. Based upon an unfair predisposition toward ridicule, I expected him to be a compete tool when he visited the studio to plug his book. Nothing could be further from the truth. I’ll say it right here, right now: I humbly apologize to Paul Stanley, for every rip-shot-goof I’ve tossed his way. He is the epitome of class. I appreciate his patience with my nonsense.

These guys have always been *so* cool to talk to. One of those bands that I sort of “grew up” with during my career. In fact, they are the example of what *not* to do, when playing in front of 300 of the most influential people in Rock Radio. It’s a long story…and Kevin explains it right here. Enjoy

Always great to sit with Roberto. He’s a class act from the word “go.” During this particular chat, we talk about how Metallica spent (and we now know, lost) $18,000,000 on “Through The Never.” Plus, only the best Bass players can make one note, sound fantastic. Robert is one of those guys. And, we prove it. And…I called him on “Lulu.” He handled it like a pro.
