I love Dee. He’s one of the guys that gets what I do. Hell, he DOES what I do. This was prior to the Twisted Sister reunion. Pay close attention. Dee had the idea for “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” long before Chaim did! And yeah…he did get a plug in for The House Of Hair! I would’ve expected nothing less.

Here’s a small sample of what the show sounded like on The Rock in Kansas City. A few clips of stuff not featured elsewhere on the site, featuring Zakk Wylde, (AIC vocalist) William DuVall, Lars Ulrich & Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour). Plus, bits of phone calls I’ve received while on the air.  It’s what the industry calls a scoped “best of.” Which is a term I’d use loosely (at best) to describe it. Just a few minutes of fun really. This was one of the most aggressive Rock stations in America at the time. We played the heaviest music. Howard Stern did Mornings, and I did Afternoons (and nights before that). We could NEVER do this stuff today.

Yeah…this was just stupid fun. But unlike a lot of other radio “bits”..this was not faked/staged. This woman was pissed, and the Goldsmith’s people called the station, and threatened legal action. Tee Hee Hee…This is what I do for a living. Memphis was a particularly cutting edge time. I guess you could call it my “shock jock” phase. Given the fact that Howard Stern was our Morning Guy, there wasn’t a hell of a line to cross. This was to my advantage. Crazy radio done in Memphis. Probably the filthiest of my career.
