Here I’m joined by one of my favorite guests. From one of my favorite bands. As I’ve said many times before on the air…I LOVE The Cult. I think they’re incredibly underrated. So, any time I can get a chance to get them on the air, I take it. Billy called in before a show they were doing toward the end of the “Born Into This” tour. Which, I hosted the world premiere of. Here’s a small sample of what the show sounded like on The Rock in Kansas City. A few clips of stuff not featured elsewhere on the site, featuring Zakk Wylde, (AIC vocalist) William DuVall, Lars Ulrich & Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour). Plus, bits of phone calls I’ve received while on the air.  It’s what the industry calls a scoped “best of.” Which is a term I’d use loosely (at best) to describe it. Just a few minutes of fun really. In 2007, I was asked by the industry magazine Friday Morning Quarterback, to host the World Premiere for the new CD from the Cult. The CD is called “Born Into This.” This one-hour premiere ran on Rock & Alternative stations all over America. It was an amazing experience for me to be able to sit down with Ian Astbury, Billy Duffy & Chris Wyse to discuss the recording process and what makes the band tick. I’ve been fortunate to have been able to interview the band on several occasions. Considering they’re one of my favorite bands of all-time…I always remind myself how cool my job is. I have purposely uploaded this in mono and at a low bit rate. Lots of people spent a lot of time putting this together for the broadcast. It sounded amazing when it happened. But, here…it is presented for archival and your listening enjoyment. Thanks to the band, their manager Tom Vitorino, Mike Parish & everyone at FMQB for flying me out to Hollywood and allowing us to do this at the legendary Capitol Records building. Hope you enjoy!

For your pleasure? I present another in a long line of Lars interviews. I think I may have spoken to him more than any other musician during my career. Either him…or Ozzy. Either way, not bad at all. This was done prior to the third (?) show of the Death Magnetic Tour. And as always, we had a blast.

Another cool new band stops by the broadcast table at the biggest one-day music event in the Midwest. It’s Rockfest in Kansas City. This was near the beginning of their career. These guys have a great sense of humor. And, they write *very* catchy tunes. Of all the bands that seem to be “come & go” these days, I think this one has real talent. I hope they stick around for a while. They’re good guys, who seem to get it on every level.
