Shao-Linen Cleaners

Category: Neanderpaul Sings! - Parody & Satire

From “No Talent Ass Clown”

There was a time when we all laughed about ethnic stereotypes. Because let’s face it, funny is funny. And ethnic accents = funny. this bit came from the mind of our old night guy in Sacramento, Chris Payne. Chris saw the name of some cleaning company and *thought* it said “Shao Lin” something. Of course, we never bothered to follow up. We just decided to write a bit. Now…here’s the kicker. We had a woman of Chinese descent in our business office. Before we ran the bit on the air, we did the responsible thing, when preparing to present racially insensitive material; we got someone *of* that race, to sign off on it, so we felt better about ourselves. Today, this would’ve been grounds for firing. Back then, it was just immature.

Geriatric Park

So, I always remembered the big production, big budget horror films when I was a kid. Long before everything was clown faces & slasher films, the scary movie was dominated by monsters, and feelings of intense dread. Life was hanging in the balance at all time. And, unless the hero did something…heroic, we were DOOMED! They *always* made it seem like the world was coming to an end. For some, it is. Old people = funny. Also from “No Talent Ass Clown”

Shaving Mullets

From: “No Talent Ass Clown”

My tribute to the endearing haircut that keeps on giving. We *all* had one at some time in our life. I’ve always contended it should’ve been called the “Mom-ette.” Because, your mom wouldn’t let you grow your hair long. So, you’d try to grow the back as long as possible, while keeping the rest neat. Right? Megadeth happened to write a cool tune, that made it very easy for me to appropriate it for my needs. A timeless classic, that endures today.

Another Letter To St. Dick

Any bit that works…should be milked. Another in the series of letters that gets circulated via the internet around Xmas time. Did these in Sacramento when I was on 98 Rock. I still use them at whatever station I’m on at the time. They still seem to hold up. From my charity CD, “No Talent Ass Clown.” I bet you can find used copies around Sacramento, or on Amazon. You know you’ve “made it” when people are selling off your CD online 🙂

Fa Cue

From my first CD: “No Talent Ass Clown”

I did this in tribute to my good friend Lou Brutus’ “Fa King.” I used to listen to Lou, when he was on the Rock station in Providence, Rhode Island. He was a master of the sublime back then. And then, he went to Chicago and created the classic “Fa King.” Which remains a brilliant bit. So, I was looking for something one day to make fun of. And, this ended up being it. 1st Law of Radio; Steal your bits! Thanks Lou!
